ATLANTA – Nuesoft Technologies has taken system interoperability to a new level with the creation of its Interface Certification Program (ICP). Nuesoft introduced the program to streamline the interface process and to build in quality assurance standards.
“Over the past year, interface requests from our clients have increased significantly,” said Nuesoft Technologies Director of Product Management Stephen Wooten. “We developed our Interface Certification Program to mirror the Six Sigma methodologies for quality assurance because we saw an opportunity to add efficiencies and improve customer service.”
By introducing the program, Nuesoft has increased the number of completed interfaces to its NueMD practice management system by more than 75 percent over the same period last year. And, turnaround time for interface requests has decreased by an average of 33 percent.
Interfaces involve the synchronization of information between software vendors. For practice management or electronic medical records (EMR) vendors, this process is governed by the American National Standards Institutes’ Health Level 7 (HL7) standards for clinical and administrative data. Like most practice management vendors, Nuesoft adheres to these standards. However, by putting structure around the interface process, Nuesoft has created a more strategic, productive, and action oriented method that helps all involved parties to clearly understand roles and responsibilities, and thus improve timelines.
Steps in Nuesoft’s Interface Certification Program include verification of compatibility, extensive testing protocols, and an in-depth certification process that requires interface partners to proactively share information about pending system upgrades.
“We are very impressed with Nuesoft’s professional and well-organized approach to the interface process,” said AdvantaChart Vice President of Sales Kim Maddox. Nuesoft recently certified and completed an interface to AdvantaChart’s EMR product. “We were working under an extremely tight schedule and appreciated having proactive communication and a clear agenda so that we could manage the expectations of our client.”
Nuesoft has already certified six interfaces with EMR and lab companies, with nearly 10 more on the way. To view a complete list, or to learn about becoming an interface partner, visit www.nuemd.com.
