ATLANTA - Nuesoft Technologies today announced the availability of the first version of its electronic medical record (EMR) product for college and university health centers. The Nuesoft Xpress(TM) EMR Version 1.0 links seamlessly with the Nuesoft Xpress practice management system to make it the only integrated Internet-based EMR/practice management solution on the market.
"By adding an electronic medical record to our suite of product offerings, we are providing health center directors with a more complete approach to managing their health centers," said Nuesoft Technologies President and CEO Massoud Alibakhsh. "Nuesoft's unique delivery platform provides a stronger solution than existing offerings by allowing users easy access to students' clinical, administrative and financial information from anywhere at any time in a totally secure environment."
The Nuesoft Xpress EMR is delivered over the Internet using a high speed connection. Because it runs as a Java application -- not through a computer's Web browser -- the Xpress application and all related patient data are hidden behind an additional layer of protection, guaranteeing clients' security and HIPAA-compliance. In addition, Nuesoft Xpress' Internet delivery mechanism eliminates the purchase of servers, operating systems, database licenses and other hardware and software associated with traditional EMR products.
Some of the features of the Nuesoft Xpress EMR include a subjective and objective question-tree assessment, where each template prompts additional questions based on answers provided; the ability to review and run reports on dispensary inventory; a prescription writer, a dictation feature; a file attachment feature, and a seamless link to remote lab, pharmacy and radiology systems.
In addition, the Nuesoft Xpress EMR offers the ability to generate hundreds of reports on students' clinical data, including several benchmarking reports, where Nuesoft Xpress users can instantly compare statistics from their health center to those from hundreds of other schools.
"We have used Nuesoft Xpress' practice management solution for the past few years, and, in combination with the new EMR, we have really been able to streamline the operations of our health services unit," said Ann Potter, director of health services at the North Carolina School of Arts (NCSA) in Winston-Salem, N.C. NCSA was one of the colleges that pilot-tested the Nuesoft Xpress EMR.
