ICD-10 delay allows time for clinical documentation improvement

In recent years, medical providers have dreaded the transition from the ICD-9 set of diagnostic and procedure codes to ICD-10, which triples the number of potential codes that practitioners can use to record and bill for patient care. One of the reasons why the change is generally unwelcome is the amount of resources needed for training and practice updates, and the unpredictable impact the change may have on a practice's revenue cycle.
