Senators seek to revamp health IT policies and programs

Six senators have recently called for an overhaul of the federal healthcare IT policy. ONC announces the State Meaningful Use Acceleration Challenge 2.0

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) recently announced the State Meaningful Use Acceleration Challenge 2.0. According to a report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the new program was created in response to the success of 2012's Meaningful Use Challenge. Meaningful use requirements could change with new bill

A new bill sitting before the House of Representatives could alter the way some Medicare providers achieve meaningful use, according to Healthcare IT News. Called the Electronic Health Records Improvement Act, the bill is sponsored by Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.), and would amend 2009's Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act.
